About BSSS ED Cell
Entrepreneurship Development Cell was established in The Bhopal School of Social Sciences in the academic year 2016-17 under the guidelines established by the Principal. The guidelines were prepared in consultation with the officials from EDII Mr Tarun Bedi and Mr Vinay Verma.
Entrepreneurship is a key element in the industrialization and economic progress of a nation. History is replete with examples of entrepreneurs who have chased their dreams right from their student days and BSSS strictly believes that education is never complete without exposing students to this option.
The Cell was established with a vision of fostering innovation and promoting entrepreneurial skills among BSSS students. A dedicated team of pro-active faculty along with some student representatives run the Cell. Aspiring entrepreneurs are motivated and groomed with inputs on how to be a successful entrepreneur, through workshops and seminars by eminent people from the industry. Students are encouraged to consider self employment as a career option, for which necessary training in entrepreneurship skills is offered through standardized courses.
To identify the opportunities that will allow the growth and success of every student through interdisciplinary learning environments that will teach students to explore new opportunities out of the present ordinary human life.
To expand the entrepreneurship skills through education, research and training, thus speeding up economic growth, by increasing the supply of new entrepreneurs and enhancing the performance of existing ones. Also, to initiate entrepreneurial culture within the institutional mechanism and discharging the responsibility to provide motivation, guidance, and services to prospective and budding entrepreneurs.
The BSSS ED Team
The team consists of teachers as well as interested students from all the departments. They organize various activities to meet the objectives of the Cell.

The E D Cell organized various activities to hone the entrepreneurial skills of the students of the college during the AY 2017-18 which are as follows;
Mr. Amit Raje owner, AIC-ASL Ltd. Aartech Solonics Ltd
The first expert session took place on the 16th of September 2017. The Chief Guest for the program was Mr. Amit Raje owner, AIC-ASL Ltd. Aartech Solonics Ltd is a System Solution Oriented R&D Enterprise in the field of Specialised and Select Energy Applications. It provides technical expertise to all its customers in expanding energy market across the globe.
ASL HR Solutions & its Partners
Mr Pradeep Ghosh (SWAN) motivated the students and emphasised the need of entrepreneurs in our country. He offered support and guidance for the students. He also made the students aware of the Entrepreneurship Incubation Cell and its importance in the countryâ€™s development.
Mr Tannison another young entrepreneur, shared his journey to becoming a successful entrepreneur with the students and motivated them.
S.Pace Incubation Centre
S. Pace offered services, information and guidance to budding entrepreneurs free of cost during the programmes. The CEO of S.Pace Mr Taytil Singh interacted with students.
Idea Generation Workshop
On 25 September, 2017 an idea generation workshop was conducted for the students who have start up ideas. One to one counselling was given to 21 students by Ms Kriti Sahu from National Entrepreneurship Network and Mr Naved Ahmed Regional co-ordinator SME, Indore region.
Entrepreneurial Skill Development Week
A four days Entrepreneurial Skill Development Week was conducted by ED-Cell in co-ordination with the BSSS Placement Cell and Youth connect, an NGO from 30 January to 2 February, 2018 . This consisted of motivational talks aimed at inculcating the feeling of entrepreneurship amongst participating students. This programme included exhilarating events like inspiring talks by eminent personalities, enriching workshops and idea generation workshops. 372 students from all streams registeredfor the activity.
Day 1- Opening ceremony of the 4 days workshop and Interactive sessions with the CEO of The Kabadiwala Mr Anurag Asati. The officials from Youth Connect a Start up NGO also interacte4d with the students.

During the event Principal Fr Dr John P J, enthused the young aspiring entrepreneurs to come forward with their business ideas and congratulated the Cell for organizing the event. The ED Cell in Charge Dr Smitha Pillai explained the objectives of the programme and the future activities of the Cell. The training and Placement in Charge Ms. Shubra Bhatia explained the training and placement activities to be conducted in the campus during the week and motivated the students to be part of the programme. Mrs. Sunita Anand, in her vote of thanks expressed our sincere gratitude towards the resource persons, Mr Anurag Asati, CEO The Kabadiwala, Mr Swapnil Tripathi, CEO MYSKILL and Mr Mayank Pratap Singh CEO of Engineer Babu for their wholehearted support to achieve the objectives of the programme.
The feedback showed that the students found the programme beneficial. They desire to have more such events. A group of 25 students produced their business ideas and sought the help from the Cell for itâ€™s execution. 2 students who shared their business ideas during the event got a golden chance to get associated with MYSKILL as the CEO of MYSKILL announced his full support in finding an online market for their business. Certificates were distributed to all participants.
