Students, parents and teachers have often expressed the need to train our students in 'language in use', as well as communication skills. Recognizing this as an important and urgent need, the college has decided to associate with the University of Cambridge-ESOL to train and certify the first year students of all our streams in Business English and Communication skills (BEC). British Council is bringing the programme to BSSS Bhopal and will play a key role in Orientation, communication and the administration of examinations. This Programme is being adopted to help our students to build up their functional language and vocabulary and to train them in skills like socializing, telephoning, giving simple presentations and participating in discussions and meetings. Registrations for this program is invited from all First Year students. 

The learners will be taught to speak about themselves and their institution/organization, to use the telephone effectively, to prepare and make simple presentations, to learn to plan and make arrangements in given situations, to talk about products and services, to participate in discussions. The program will cover the four basic skills of reading, listening, writing and speaking in English. the students will be trained by expert instructors oriented by the British Council. At the end of the program all students will be required to take the Business English Certificate (BEC) Preliminary Level Examination offered by the University of Cambridge-ESOL, UK. This is an international examination offered by the Cambridge through the British Council Division in India. On Passing this examination the students will be awarded certificates from the University of Cambridge-ESOL. These certificates have worldwide recognition and validity.
