Department of Physical Education

An Overview

The Department of Physical Education and Sports, BSSS is an academic department as well as service unit. The department's goal is to provide students with a solid understanding of health and human performance that will help them become competent and productive leaders in a variety of physical activities and professional roles within fitness, exercise and sports.

It plays an important role in providing an undergraduate program B.P.E.S. (Bachelor of Physical Education & Sports) introduced in the year 2019.

The undergraduate program is designed and will run according to the norms and in affiliation to the Barkatullah University. The curriculum of the degrees is designed based on the practical implication of the program giving equal emphasis to both theory and practicals.

The Department of Physical Education & Sports is well equipped with modern infrastructure including a Fitness Center which caters to the Physical fitness and routine exercises and a state of the art Sports Complex to successfully provide facilities to conduct and organize both indoor as well as outdoor games. The activities conducted by the department include Swimming, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Table-Tennis, Lawn-Tennis, Taikwando, Cricket, Handball, Football, Athletics (track and field). It manages intercollegiate sports competition at state as well as national level.

The department also manages the overall development of student's physical health supporting active play and recreation during activity breaks.

Vision :

The Physical Education Program has a vision of a physically educated world where lifelong learning and physical activity are practiced by all.

Mission : 

To develop a quality physical education program that emphasizes enjoyable participation in curriculum through physical activities; to help students develop the knowledge, attitude, motor skills, social skills and confidence needed to begin and maintain a healthy physically active lifestyle.

The department conducts the following activities:

• Providing access to equipment and facilities (including grassed spaces) to encourage active participation.
• Organizes Leadership camps
• Organizes Inter Morale and Extra Morale activities
• Conducts Coaching Camps at regular basis
• Educational Tours
• Social Outreach Program to encourage human sensitization
• Guest Lectures by the experts of sports field
• Conducts Adventure Camps
