BSSS Social Outreach activities at Van Vihar in Wildlife Week

The Social Outreach Program of the Department of Management, The Bhopal School of Social Sciences empowered student volunteers to use their knowledge, skills, and value to integrate economic, social, and environmental dimensions by participation in the Wildlife Week program held at Van Vihar

As a part of this program, The student volunteers of the social outreach cell of the Management department of BSSS under the mentorship of the Head of the Department Dr Smitha Pillai and teacher co-ordinators Dr Rasmeet Kaur Malhi and Ms. Namrata Kishnani conducted various voluntary services in a week-long wildlife celebration. The students volunteered enthusiastically in managing several competitions held during the week-long Wildlife Week celebration at Van Vihar National Park and Zoo. The students used this an opportunity to engage with young students from various schools to reach out to the community with the objective of conserving wildlife for all.
The week was inaugurated by the Chairman of Van Vihar National Park who welcomed the young enthusiastic minds, educators and community to support conservation initiatives and awareness programs. It was followed by various events like bird watching, painting, fancy dress, rangoli, face painting, photography, Tiger photo exhibition and many more on wildlife themes. It aims to promote awareness about nature and biodiversity.
The student volunteers were instrumental in assisting the staff at the event by guiding the participants and parents present there in solving their queries and the registration process of their children for the various competitions that were being held throughout the week.
The week was concluded with a pledge taken by the chief guest and all the students present there who vowed to protect our wild heritage during the prize distribution ceremony conducted on the concluding day with all the winners of the several competitions.
Dr Smitha Pillai, HOD of the Management Department acknowledged the efforts of social outreach volunteers for their hard work and dedication towards the environment, community and social responsibilities for the development of a better community and citizens
