The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS) held its National Management Day program on February 21, 2024, at the BSSS Auditorium, drawing an impressive turnout of 600 enthusiastic students. The event, organized to celebrate the significance of management education, featured a variety of engaging activities and competitions.
The program commenced with an inspiring address by Dr. Fr. John P.J., the Principal of BSSS, who emphasized the importance of seizing learning opportunities. The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Mr. Avinash Lavania, Managing Director of M.P. Road Development Corporation, Bhopal, and Dr. Rizwana Jamal, Principal Saifia College, Bhopal,.Mr. Avinash in his address emphasized that time is the most precious resource and hence students should not only manage their overall time to succeed but also manage their time spent on social media because a social media profile is only a social presence and not a social life. He added that one must surround themselves with people who have a positive approach towards life.
Students showcased their intellect and awareness of business concepts through the Catechize Quiz, a highly competitive business quiz covering management concepts, current affairs, and business trends. The Vocal Voyagers extempore speech competition provided a platform for students to exhibit their oratory skills and spontaneous thinking. Adding a creative twist, the Jugalbandi Junction ad-mad show featured students presenting humorous and innovative advertisements, showcasing their creativity and marketing acumen.
Judged by Dr. Nishtha Tyagi Pachouri and Mr. Rajeev Mishra, the competitions recognized and felicitated winners, encouraging them to excel further in their academic and extracurricular pursuits. During the program, the sports achievers from the department were felicitated by the Head of the Department Prof. Smitha Pillai, and awarded management club students with their letters of appointment.
As part of the National Management Day observation, a session on "Financial Planning and Wealth Management" was organized for faculty members, led by Mr. Ayush Shrivastava, an esteemed alumnus. Mr. Shrivastava shared insights on stock market trends and financial planning strategies to guide staff members.
