An Inspiring Initiative Towards Mental Health, Self-Control, and Mutual Respect

The Department of Psychology, The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS), organized a special interactive session for the college’s security personnel as part of Mental Health Week 2025.

The session was conducted by Dr. Vinay Mishra, Head, Department of Psychology, BSSS. The objective of the session was to strengthen the mental well-being of the security staff, emphasize the importance of self-care, highlight the need to maintain a balance between work and personal life, and encourage them to act with patience and self-control in every situation.

In his address, Dr. Mishra emphasized that mental health is not only essential for students but equally important for every member of the institution. He stated that when individuals take care of their emotional well-being, they are better able to contribute to the safety and welfare of others. The session also highlighted that discipline is truly meaningful only when it is accompanied by understanding, empathy, and mutual respect.

The security personnel shared their experiences and spoke about how they maintain discipline on campus through communication and cooperation with students. The Department of Psychology appreciated their contribution and encouraged them to make self-care and positive thinking an integral part of their lives.

The session concluded with the message that a healthy mind is the foundation of a healthy society, and when every individual upholds mental balance, self-control, and respect, the institution nurtures a strong and harmonious environment.
