BSSS Hosted a Session with Chief Officer Robinson George

The Management Department of Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS) recently hosted Chief Officer Robinson George of the Mediterranean Shipping Company, providing the students with an essential perspective on the industry.

Professor Laila Simon stated that her guest lecture, Deep Dive into Ocean Shipping: Containerisation and Trade Routes, emphasised the essential role of maritime transport, which facilitates approximately 80% of trade worldwide. Chief Officer George provided complete information on the operational workflow of the shipping industry, detailing the roles of the ship-owner, shipper, charterer, and consignee, and highlighted the specific nature of different types of ships, ranging from container ships and bulk carriers to tankers. This provided BBA and BCom students specializing in Logistics and Supply Chain with practical knowledge that complements their curriculum.
