One-Day Faculty Development Workshop on “Experiential Exercises in Happiness”
The Department of Psychology, The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS), Bhopal, in collaboration with the Jaipuria Institute of Management, successfully organized a One-Day Faculty Development Workshop on the theme “Experiential Exercises in Happiness.” The programme was conducted with the objective of promoting faculty well-being and integrating experiential and reflective practices into academic and professional spaces.
The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Nitin Merh, an esteemed resource person, who conducted a series of engaging and insightful sessions throughout the day. The sessions focused on mindfulness-based stress reduction, experiential learning techniques, and reflective discussions. Key areas explored included happiness, emotional awareness, gratitude, social connectedness, and mental habits, offering participants practical tools that could be applied in both teaching-learning processes and personal life.
The programme was organized with the support and sponsorship of the Jaipuria Institute of Management, whose collaboration significantly contributed to the success of the workshop. The initiative also received constant encouragement and guidance from the leadership of The Bhopal School of Social Sciences, including Dr. Fr. John PJ, Principal; Dr. Sr. Leema Jacobs, Vice Principal; and Fr. Jomi Panithas, Dean Academics, reflecting the institution’s commitment to holistic education and faculty development.
The workshop was coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Vinay Mishra, Head, Department of Psychology, who played a key role in facilitating the academic collaboration between Jaipuria Institute of Management and BSSS.
Faculty members from various departments actively participated in the workshop, contributing to meaningful discussions and experiential learning activities. The programme concluded on a reflective note, emphasizing the importance of happiness, mindfulness, and emotional well-being in nurturing healthier and more effective academic environments.
