The Department of Economics, School of Social Sciences, Bhopal successfully organized a student seminar on the theme “Reimagining Economic Futures: Integrating Indian Knowledge Systems for Sustainable Growth towards India@2047” on 16 January 2026. Around 150 students actively participated in this academic event, which aimed to enhance students’ academic understanding and awareness. The main objective of the seminar was to encourage students to reflect on contemporary economic challenges in the context of India@2047 and to highlight the relevance of India’s knowledge traditions for sustainable and inclusive development. The chief guest of the program was Dr. Keshav Ahuja, Dean, School of Economics, DAVV, Indore. In his address, Dr. Ahuja emphasized the integration of Indian economic thought with modern development policies and highlighted the need for sustainable development.
The seminar was held under the guidance and patronage of Dr. Fr. John P.J., Principal, BSSS, Bhopal, who welcomed everyone and stated that understanding today’s economic challenges is extremely important to move towards a developed India. Dr. Jyoti Madhur, Head of Department, said that such academic platforms are highly beneficial for students. She also released the department’s annual magazine “Mosaic Economics (2025–26)”, which promotes research skills, analytical thinking, and policy-related understanding. During the seminar, students presented their research on topics related to sustainable development, economic growth, and inclusive development. The program concluded with an interactive discussion session, which strengthened academic dialogue and innovative thinking in the Department of Economics.
